Energy from the Earth
Temperatures below the surface of the earth remain very constant and moderate, unaffected by outdoor temperatures. Geothermal systems utilize an earth loop system below ground to transfer this energy.
In winter when it is warmer underground, heat is drawn up from the earth to warm your home. In the summertime when the earth is cooler, the system transfers heat down where it is absorbed.
